Physiotherapist Reveals Simple Finger Test to Assess Brain Health

Physiotherapist Adrián Soriano Rangel, known on TikTok as @adri.fisio.fitness, has introduced a straightforward hand movement test that offers insight into brain performance — and it only takes three seconds to try.

In a popular video, the Spanish expert explains, “Did you know that controlling your little finger reveals a lot about your brain? This simple challenge stimulates fine motor skills, neuromuscular coordination, and activates brain areas linked to movement, concentration, and memory.”

The exercise requires moving only your little finger while keeping the others still. Soriano Rangel demonstrates the challenge and notes, “If you can’t do this, it may indicate your brain is ageing faster than it should.”

But what exactly does this test do? He clarifies, “It activates the regions of your brain responsible for fine coordination and neuromuscular connections. If it’s difficult, spend ten seconds daily practicing this movement. It’s no magic cure, but it helps keep your brain alert, active, and youthful.”

He recommends incorporating this simple exercise into daily routines to engage the brain more effectively and promote longevity. While it does not prevent neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s, it supports overall brain health and resilience.

“As a physiotherapist, I always emphasize: don’t just train your body — train your brain too,” Soriano Rangel concludes.
