Photographers Warned Over Taking Action Shots of Bikers on A44 at Fish Hill

Three photographers have received formal warnings after consistently taking photos of motorcyclists on the A44 at Fish Hill, Broadway. This crackdown aims to curb a growing trend where bikers perform dangerous stunts, such as wheelies and speeding, to capture striking action shots that have led to a surge of motorcycle activity in the Cotswolds.

The Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) issued Community Protection Notice Warnings (CPNWs) to the photographers, instructing them to avoid positioning themselves on road verges at Fish Hill with the intent of photographing vehicles for the next 12 months.

CPNWs highlight concerns over antisocial behavior (ASB) and serve as a warning before potentially escalating to Community Protection Notices (CPNs), which carry stricter legal consequences, including potential arrests if breached. Local residents have voiced frustration over the noise and disturbances caused by the influx of bikers drawn to the area by these photography sessions.

Safer Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Wise commented, “We are targeting these photographers because their presence encourages large numbers of bikers to congregate at Fish Hill, particularly on sunny days. They often advertise their photo sessions on social media, which attracts hundreds of riders eager to show off risky maneuvers.”

Inspector Wise added that some riders are breaking traffic laws by speeding, overtaking dangerously, pulling wheelies, and even removing registration plates to avoid identification. “The speeds involved endanger both the riders and the public, while the noise disrupts the local community, making the village’s environment unbearable for residents.”

West Mercia Police report that from January 2020 to April 2025, Fish Hill has been the site of 13 collisions involving motorcycles, resulting in eight serious and five slight injuries. Authorities hope the CPNWs will deter photographers from promoting such behavior and reduce the number of risky motorcycle gatherings on this stretch of road.
