The Cheltenham parkrun event was abruptly cancelled this morning after a body was found in Pittville Park. Police responded to a report just before 9 a.m., when an early morning runner stumbled upon the tragic discovery.
Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed a scene guard is currently in place while officers investigate the incident. A spokesperson stated: “We were called at 8.50 a.m. following the report of a body found by a member of the public. The death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious at this time.”
Parkrun organisers posted on their Facebook page apologising for the sudden cancellation: “Due to unforeseen circumstances in the park, we had to cancel Cheltenham parkrun this morning. If you have been affected and would like support, please email [email protected].”
