Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has applied for planning permission to transform a former stable block on the grounds of his historic Essex residence, Spains Hall, into a pop-up takeaway bakery. The venture aims to offer freshly baked treats, sandwiches, and coffee throughout August as a trial, operating daily from 9am to 5pm.
Spains Hall is a distinguished Grade I listed manor dating back to around 1570, located in Finchingfield, Essex. It has long served as a wedding venue and has only been owned by three families since the Middle Ages.
