The historic Dilke Memorial Hospital in the Forest of Dean has embarked on a new chapter, having been sold to Gloucestershire Independent College to be repurposed as a specialized educational facility for young people with complex needs. Following its closure in 2024, the Dilke community hospital was placed on the market, with the sale finalized on March 31, 2026. This transition comes after the establishment of a new community hospital on Steam Mills Road in Cinderford, which replaced both the Dilke and Lydney hospitals.
