Paedophile Caught with Disturbing Evidence at Gloucester Station

Christopher Webb, 38, from Tilesford near Pershore, Worcestershire, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for attempting sexual activity with a child. Webb was convicted at Worcester Crown Court for causing and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity with penetration, attempting sexual communication with a child, and attempting to meet a girl under 16 after grooming her online.

In March 2025, undercover officers from West Mercia Police intercepted Webb’s grooming activities. Believing he was communicating with a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat, he shifted the conversation to WhatsApp where he sent explicit images of himself and solicited similar images from the child profile. Webb arranged to meet the girl at Gloucester Train Station on March 26, 2025, openly expressing his intention to engage in sexual activity with her.

Upon arrest, Webb was found carrying a black bag containing an envelope filled with girls’ underwear labeled with his home address, further confirming his disturbing intentions. Investigations also revealed his Snapchat profile and online searches such as “do under 16s need a train ticket,” indicating his awareness that the victim was underage.

Webb received a prison sentence of four years and six months for the primary offence, ten months concurrently for a second offence, and two years and three months concurrently for a third offence, along with a £228 victim surcharge. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for ten years.

The SHPO restricts Webb from unsupervised contact with females under 18 and mandates reporting any internet-enabled devices he uses within 48 hours. These devices must allow monitoring of web history without deletion or private browsing, incorporating forensic software to ensure compliance.

Detective Constable Rich Britton from West Mercia’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team commented, “We are satisfied to have prevented this paedophile from harming a real child. Webb was caught red-handed while attempting to abuse, sending a clear warning to others considering similar crimes that police could be watching and prison awaits.”
