Paedophile Arrested at Gloucester Station with Disturbing Evidence

Christopher Webb, 38, of Tilesford near Pershore, Worcestershire, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison after being convicted of multiple child sexual offences. Webb was found guilty at Worcester Crown Court on April 24, 2025, of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity with penetration, attempting sexual communication with a child, and trying to meet a girl under 16 years old following grooming.

The arrest followed a police operation by West Mercia’s undercover officers in March 2025. Webb had been grooming who he believed to be a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat before moving their conversations onto WhatsApp. He sent explicit images of himself and solicited similar images from the child profile, even arranging to meet the girl at Gloucester Train Station on March 26, intending to have sex with her.

When Webb arrived at the station, officers apprehended him. Upon arrest, police discovered a black bag containing an envelope filled with girls’ underwear addressed to his home. Further investigation revealed his Snapchat profile and internet searches, including queries about train tickets for under 16s, confirming his awareness of the victim’s age.

Webb received four years and six months imprisonment for the primary offence, with concurrent sentences totaling two years and ten months plus a £228 victim surcharge for the additional offences. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and was given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). This order prohibits unsupervised contact with females under 18 and restricts internet device usage with strict monitoring conditions, including forensic software installation and no use of incognito modes.

Detective Constable Rich Britton of West Mercia’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET) commented, “Thanks to this operation, we stopped a paedophile from victimising a child. This conviction sends a clear message: anyone attempting such crimes risks serious jail time.”
