Nicola Webber, a committed volunteer from Sodbury Tennis Club near Yate, has been awarded the prestigious Official of the Year award at the LTA Awards, proudly presented by Lexus. The ceremony took place on Thursday, 16 April, at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
At 49 years old, Webber’s remarkable dedication, professionalism, and passion for delivering high-quality tennis and padel competitions that welcome players of all abilities, including visually impaired and deaf participants, earned her this standout accolade.
Speaking after the win, Webber said, “I’m truly overwhelmed and still can’t quite believe it. Hearing about the achievements of the other nominees was inspiring, so to be recognised alongside them is a wonderful surprise. I love seeing the game grow and becoming more inclusive. Being involved in this community has brought me so much joy.”

The LTA Awards, established in 2015 by former LTA President Cathie Sabin OBE, highlight the dedication and impact of volunteers, coaches, officials, and players who contribute tirelessly to tennis and padel throughout Britain. This year, over 3,000 nominations were received across 14 categories, showcasing the impressive talent and commitment within the sport.
LTA President Roy Colabawalla emphasised the importance of grassroots support, stating, “The LTA Awards celebrate those who keep tennis and padel thriving at every level. Volunteers like Nicola open up our sports to a wide range of communities, creating opportunities and inspiring future generations. Our mission is to make tennis and padel welcoming, accessible, and exciting for everyone, regardless of background or location.”
