Clive Owen, well-known from Our Yorkshire Farm, has recently opened up about his plans for the future as he approaches retirement age and contemplates who will take over the farm.
In a candid conversation during yesterday’s episode of Our Farm Next Door, Clive discussed weather challenges and their effects on crops. He then shared, “It is a young fellas' game,” admitting that at nearly 70, he is considering what lies ahead. “It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone,” he explained.
With a lighthearted tone, Clive joked, “It is nice for me to pass on my shears,” signaling his readiness to hand over farming duties. Talking about the current farming activities, he added, “We are just beginning to shear sheep. I think Amanda is going to shear, and Milo a bit later, and I am not sure if I can avoid it.”

The dynamics between Clive and his former partner Amanda remain positive despite their separation. Clive reflected, “Me and Amanda, for some crazy reason, it has worked out alright. We are not together, but we can keep things going to suit everybody, and that is what we intend to do.” Amanda agreed, noting, “Things are good, and I think being busy plays a huge part in keeping everybody’s focus.”
Meanwhile, their son Miles shared his ambitions. As the eldest, he feels the weight of responsibility but is focused on his agricultural future. “I hadn’t thought about the future and what I’d want to do that far yet, but definitely something with agriculture. There is a lot more agriculture in the world than just hill farms,” he said.
Clive reiterated the uncertainty of the future, saying, “What the future holds, you can never quite be sure. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
The episode also saw the Owen family celebrating daughter Nancy’s birthday, prompting viewers to comment on how much the children have grown.
