Clive Owen, a familiar face on Our Yorkshire Farm, recently opened up about his plans for the future and the possibility of passing on the responsibilities of the farm. Approaching his 70s, Clive acknowledges that farming is a demanding pursuit best suited to younger hands.
During a candid conversation with Amanda about the challenges weather poses to their crops on a recent episode of Our Farm Next Door, Clive reflected, “It is a young fellas' game. I’m almost 70 now, so I have got to think about what comes next. It’s something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
With a playful smile, he added, “It’s nice for me to pass on my shears,” hinting at the gradual handover of duties.

Later in the episode, Clive shared an update about sheep shearing: “We are just beginning to shear sheep. I think Amanda is going to shear and Milo a bit later, and I’m not sure if I can avoid it.”
Despite no longer being a couple, Clive highlighted the positive dynamic he shares with Amanda. “Me and Amanda, for some crazy reason, it has worked out alright. We are not together, but we can keep things going to suit everybody, and that is what we intend to do,” he said.
Amanda agreed, emphasizing that keeping busy helps everyone stay focused: “Things are good, and I think being busy plays a huge part.”
The farm’s next generation is also stepping up. Miles shared his ambitions, stating, “I am the eldest here now on the farm, so now a lot of the pressure is on me, you could say. I hadn’t thought about the future and what I’d want to do that far yet, but definitely something with agriculture. But there is a lot more agriculture in the world than just hill farms.”
Clive once again acknowledged the uncertainty of what lies ahead: “What the future holds, you can never quite be sure. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.”
The episode also featured a celebration of Nancy’s birthday, with fans marveling at how quickly the children are growing. Comments from viewers included: “I can’t believe how tall and different the girls look,” and “How is Nancy nine already?”
