Clive Owen, a beloved figure on Our Yorkshire Farm, recently announced a temporary break from his farming life due to an upcoming hip replacement surgery. In a repeat episode of Our Farm Next Door airing today, Clive candidly shared his feelings about the surgery and the adjustment it would bring.
Speaking directly to viewers, Clive said, “I don’t want folks to think I just stand around and ponder.” He went on to reveal, “Tomorrow, I have got to be in hospital at half seven in the morning for a new hip. I’m not exactly looking forward to it, but it has to happen, so this is my last day for a little while.”
Despite his apprehensions, Clive remained composed. “I’m going to be a bit nervous, but I’ll do exactly what they tell me. The next thing you know, it’s done. I’ve had one before, so I know the procedure. Like it or not, that’s happening tomorrow.”

The episode also highlights Clive’s efforts to prepare his sons to manage the farm during his recovery. “I couldn’t have managed without these lads doing what needed doing. They’ve done very well,” he acknowledged gratefully.
Clive even hinted that his sons might take on permanent leadership roles, joking, “It means from now on they needn’t hand the reins back to me. They can just carry on.” Teasingly, he added, “I could find myself redundant. What do you think, Miley?”
Emphasizing the teamwork essential to family farming, Clive reflected, “That’s what family farms are all about—everybody has to help.” His humor and honesty resonate as he faces this significant change, reassuring fans that while he steps back temporarily, the farm remains in capable hands.
