Amanda Owen, beloved star of Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm, recently offered a heartfelt insight into the realities of rural life while working alongside her daughter Clemmy in the Yorkshire Dales. Known affectionately as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda has become a familiar face since the show’s debut in 2018, captivating viewers with the daily trials and triumphs of farm life with her ex-husband Clive and their nine children.
In 2024, Channel 4 introduced a spin-off series, Our Farm Next Door, which follows the family’s efforts to restore a historic 200-year-old farmhouse. Amanda continues to live and work at Ravenseat Farm with her family, sharing authentic glimpses of rural living.
On Sunday, 25 January, Amanda took to Instagram to share a candid moment in the fields with Clemmy, reflecting on their recent trip to London. Just a week prior, the pair had appeared on the ITV daytime show This Morning, discussing their unique rural lifestyle with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.

In the video, captured amid blustery weather with hoods pulled up, Amanda reminisced about Clemmy’s city experience compared to their rugged farm chores. “On room service, you were ordering something unpronounceable that came under a beautiful silver cloche. And now where are you?” Amanda asked.
“Eating turnips in the field, in bad weather,” Clemmy replied with a smile.
Amanda emphasized the balance between urban and rural life: “I think the idea that you are either urban or rural is actually wrong. There’s nothing I like more than heading to London and enjoying it, but equally, this is where it’s at.”
Clemmy added, “You’ve got to do the hard work to get the reward.”
Amanda concluded with pride, “Out of the mouth of babes.”
Fans flooded the comments with praise for the duo’s authenticity and grounded outlook. One viewer wrote, “Absolutely love this video! Your beautiful children are an inspiration to us all!” Another celebrated the message, saying, “Love this so much! So down to earth and real, wonderful childhood, great mum.”
The latest series of Our Farm Next Door continues to air Mondays at 9 pm on More4, offering viewers a genuine look at life on the land and the family’s ongoing restoration project.
