Our Yorkshire Farm Star Reuben Owen Rescued After Getting Stuck in Ditch

Reuben Owen, known for his role on Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm, found himself in a tricky situation when his car got stuck in a ditch, prompting him to reach out to his brother for help.

The 21-year-old, who stars alongside his parents Amanda and Clive and his eight siblings on the popular series, has recently launched his own show, Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which follows him as he grows his Groundwork company.

In the latest episode, Reuben was busy preparing for Christmas, including the challenge of delivering a massive tree to their local market town in time for the festive light switch on.

However, his plans hit a snag when, while driving around the sprawling 2,000-acre farm with his 13-year-old brother Sid in a three-tonne cruiser, he ignored warnings about taking the vehicle off-road.

Reuben joked, “What the hell is going to happen?” but soon found out as the cruiser sank into a deep bog—a common hazard on their land, humorously referred to as “the demise of many a poor sheep.”

“I just felt us go very low, very fast!” Reuben recalled as the vehicle got stuck.

Despite his efforts to free the cruiser by revving the engine and spinning the wheels, the car remained firmly trapped. Attempts by the brothers and a friend to pull it out manually also failed.

With no other options left, Reuben called his younger brother Miles for assistance, pleading, “We are stuck, would you come and rescue me please?” eagerly awaiting his “salvation.”

Miles arrived just in time to pull them to safety, ending the ordeal on a high note.

Reflecting on the experience and family involvement in the business, Reuben shared, “This year brings us to the fourth year in business and it’s been great fun. Miles has come up a lot, and hopefully his role will be even bigger next year, and Sid is doing what he can. I never thought I’d end up with my mates and brothers working for me.”

Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales continues to capture the charm and challenges of farm life in Yorkshire.
