No arrests reported during peaceful anti-US protest at RAF Fairford

On Saturday, approximately 200 members of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) gathered peacefully near RAF Fairford, a UK military base, to protest against the use of the site by US bombers flying missions related to the conflict with Iran.

Gloucestershire Police maintained a visible presence throughout the event, which lasted from midday until 3 p.m. Despite some road closures in the area, the protest proceeded without incident, and no arrests were made.

Assistant Chief Constable Arman Mathieson expressed gratitude toward the local community for their cooperation during the demonstration. “We deployed officers in a thoughtful and proportionate manner to balance the rights of protesters with those of the wider community,” he said. He emphasized the police’s commitment to ensuring safety for all involved while minimizing disruption.
