A fresh and independent music festival is set to bring a distinctive experience to Gloucestershire this September. Days In The Sun will make its debut over three days at Newbliss Farm in Rudford, located between Gloucester and Newent.
Scheduled from 18 to 20 September, this camping and dog-friendly event will cater to up to 500 attendees, concentrating on folk and roots genres. Organisers Caitlin Barrett and Paul Chief O’Neill envision the festival as a “unique journey into the future of Gloucestershire’s festival scene,” showcasing an eclectic array of performers.
All acts will perform under cover in a circus marquee, which also houses a bar. The entertainment extends beyond bands to include belly dancers, Morris sides, Irish dancers, and drumming groups. Additionally, there will be numerous open mic slots to encourage attendees to share their talents.

Camping facilities will be available on-site, complemented by showers and a variety of traders and vendors to enhance the weekend experience.
Paul explained the inspiration behind the festival’s name: “Our title comes from the Roving Crows’ song ‘Days In The Sun’, which encourages us to live our dreams. This festival is where we provide artists and attendees space to be the best they can be within the arts.”
Highlighting its community spirit, he added, “It’s a dog-friendly event and a safe haven for artists of all ages and skill levels. Participants can join open music sessions in our second venue, providing opportunities to express themselves, display their talents, and connect with fellow music lovers.”
With over 20 years of experience programming and managing events, Caitlin and Paul have shaped their vision for this bespoke festival to foster a growing community of artists and art enthusiasts alike.
The impressive line-up features Skipinnish, the celebrated Scottish folk-rock band known for “Walking on the Waves,” which boasts over three million views on YouTube and more than ten million streams on Spotify. Other performers include PerKelt, Roving Crows, Babajack, Rusty Shackle, The Dolmen, and Dub Catalyst.
Ticket prices are set at £40 for an adult day pass and £80 for a full weekend. Those camping on-site pay an additional £10 per tent or £30 for campervans. Children aged five to 17 are charged £15 for a day ticket or £30 for the weekend, with under-fives admitted free of charge.
