New Name Announced for Gloucester Primary School Following Merger

Following the merger of two Gloucester primary schools, a new name has been revealed for the unified school where pupils will be transferred. Along with the new name, the school will adopt a fresh logo and updated uniform, signaling a new beginning for the community.

Moat Primary Academy is scheduled to close this summer, with its pupils relocating to Robinswood Primary Academy, both situated in Gloucester’s Matson area. The merger, effective September 1, 2025, aims to strengthen educational opportunities and foster community spirit.

The combined school will be renamed Hillside Primary School, a name selected through a collaborative process involving both school communities. The new logo, designed by students from Moat and Robinswood, symbolizes the unity of the two neighborhoods converging on either side of the hill.

Hillside Primary School embodies our shared commitment to providing an inclusive, high-quality education in a supportive and inspiring environment. We appreciate the enthusiasm and support shown throughout this journey.”

To ease the transition, all updates to the school’s uniforms and branding will be provided free of charge to current pupils, ensuring a smooth and accessible changeover.
