Cheltenham’s long-standing soft play centre, The Play Farm, has closed its doors, ending a cherished chapter for local families. However, excitement is building as a new, premium children’s soft play centre and café, Little Centurions, prepares to open in its place later this year.
Located in The Brewery Quarter, the former Play Farm site is undergoing a complete transformation under the ownership of Little Centurions, a thriving brand already popular in Cirencester. The centre will feature a full rebrand and refurbishment, promising a refreshed, vibrant environment designed to offer a superior family experience.
Parents can look forward to a thoughtfully designed play space where children can expend energy freely, while adults benefit from comfortable seating, premium WiFi, and the option to relax or work remotely. Little Centurions prides itself on creating a clean, calm, and welcoming atmosphere for families.

Established in 2021 by Francesca Abbley, Little Centurions has earned a strong reputation for its warm and well-maintained settings that appeal to both children and adults. The Cheltenham location will showcase the newly introduced Corinium Café, serving a variety of freshly made toasties, paninis, cakes, and soups sourced from a local bakery. Beverage offerings include quality Rijo barista coffee, teas, Bensons juices, and Winstone’s ice creams.
The centre will also cater to children’s parties every day of the week, offering 90 minutes of soft play, private party rooms, freshly prepared food options, dessert trays, and special birthday treats. Additionally, the menu accommodates dietary preferences with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
Francesca Abbley shared her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to bring Little Centurions to Cheltenham. Our aim is to provide a space where children are delighted to play and parents truly enjoy spending time — a clean, relaxed, and inviting environment for all. We are committed to supporting local suppliers, investing in our team, and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.”
Demelsa Coleman, Marketing Manager of The Brewery Quarter, welcomed the arrival of Little Centurions: “We’re excited to see such a trusted and established local brand join The Brewery Quarter. Little Centurions’ fresh energy and creativity will enhance our family-friendly offerings and become a treasured destination for local families.”
While The Play Farm will be fondly remembered for entertaining generations of children over the past decade, the arrival of Little Centurions signals an exciting new chapter for family entertainment in Cheltenham — reimagined and ready to inspire a new generation of young adventurers.
