Mum’s Honest Review of Lapland UK: One Thing That Spoiled the Magic

A mother recently shared her candid review of Lapland UK after taking her son to the Ascot location, describing a mostly magical experience overshadowed by one major downside.

Charlotte Briscoe highlighted the enchanting atmosphere upon arrival, where guests receive a “passport” to guide them through various festive activities. She applauded the venue’s immersive set designs, detailed costumes, and theatrical performances, all of which created a stunning holiday fantasy.

Throughout the day, Charlotte’s son enjoyed several carefully crafted experiences. From making toys alongside elves in Santa’s Toy Factory to decorating cookies, each activity was filled with joy and wonder. The ice rink, sweet shop, gift store, and café within the elves’ village added to the festive charm.

One highlight was the letter-writing station, where children could send their Christmas wishes to Father Christmas via a quaint postbox. “It was such a magical experience,” Charlotte said, capturing the wonder in her son’s eyes.

However, not everything was perfect. Charlotte expressed frustration with the Father Christmas meet-and-greet. Despite having a designated time slot, the family faced long queues, crowded waiting rooms, and delayed calls that took away from the experience. “The queues were far too long and it was genuinely quite disappointing,” she lamented, especially given the high ticket prices.

Other visitors on social media shared mixed experiences. Some praised their interactions with Father Christmas, who engaged warmly with children, while others acknowledged minor issues like name mispronunciations or longer waits. Several suggested that queues often form when scheduled times are not strictly adhered to.

Lapland UK bills itself as a fully immersive theatrical event spanning up to four and a half hours, designed to bring the magic of Lapland to life with activities like toy making, baking, ice skating, and meeting reindeer. Despite the hiccup, Charlotte said they still had a wonderful time overall.
