The family of Sylvia Ann King, an 81-year-old Bibury resident, have paid heartfelt tribute following her death in a tragic road collision in the Cotswolds.
Sylvia lost her life on Arlington Pike just before 12:10 pm yesterday when she was hit by a car driven by an elderly man. Despite emergency services’ swift response, she sadly died at the scene.
Her loved ones expressed deep sorrow and described her as a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. “We are truly devastated and ask for privacy to grieve during this heartbreaking time,” the family stated.

The driver, also in his 80s, was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon for assessment but is not believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. Information can be submitted online quoting incident 187 of 10 December.
