Cheltenham’s MP, Max Wilkinson, has accepted the challenge to participate in the Cheltenham Running Festival, where he will be running a half marathon at the Cheltenham Racecourse on June 8. Health Minister Ashely Dalton prompted Wilkinson to join the fundraising efforts for a new, modern cancer center. Despite battling arthritic toes, Wilkinson is determined to complete the 13-mile course to support the Big Space Cancer Appeal.
Dr. Charles Candish and Dr. Sam Guglani initiated the Big Space Cancer Appeal with the goal of raising £17.5m for a modern cancer center. This new facility aims to offer improved treatment, recovery, and diagnosis spaces that are better suited to modern cancer care, addressing the need for updated infrastructure at Cheltenham General Hospital, a designated regional cancer center.
Advocating for the Big Space Cancer Appeal has been a priority for Wilkinson since becoming the town’s MP. He has consistently highlighted the appeal in his weekly newsletter and has worked to raise awareness of the campaign within parliamentary circles. Wilkinson has expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Dr. Charles Candish and Dr. Sam Guglani, noting the incredible work they have done with the appeal.
