A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash on the A436 Stanborough Lane near Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds. The incident occurred early this morning, Monday 28 September, prompting emergency services to close the road.
Gloucestershire Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorbike at approximately 3.20am. The rider, a man in his 40s from Andoversford, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment of serious injuries. His next of kin have been informed.
Emergency responders are still at the scene, with the A436 expected to remain closed for several hours. A diversion route has been established along the A429 to manage traffic flow. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and select alternative routes suitable for their vehicle size.
