Motorcyclist Killed in Gloucestershire Crash Remembered for His Radiant Smile and Adventurous Spirit

Zachariah Wolfson, a beloved 20-year-old motorcyclist, tragically lost his life in a collision near Temple Guiting, Gloucestershire. Known for his infectious smile that “could light up the sky,” Zachariah’s life was cut short on the evening of Wednesday, April 29, when his Honda CB650R collided with a white Volkswagen transporter van at Trafalgar Crossroads near the B4077.

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Zachariah relocated to the UK at the age of 15 with his family, who settled in Oxfordshire. His family fondly recalled his zest for life and his adventurous spirit in a heartfelt statement: “Zachariah was always ready for an adventure at the drop of a hat. From a young age, his passion was to become a pilot.”

An active and daring soul, Zachariah had a lifelong love for bikes. Beginning at eight, he raced downhill mountain bikes, later embraced trials bike riding, rebuilt and rode motocross bikes, and most recently enjoyed cruising open roads on his motorcycle during warm spring afternoons.

Zachariah had just returned from a six-week trip to South Africa, where he reconnected with loved ones and explored favorite and new places. Full of hope, he planned to pursue his dream of becoming a helicopter pilot.

His family described him as someone who didn’t just live life but energized those around him, building deep and meaningful connections with friends and family. He was loved by his parents, three siblings, partner, and friends, leaving behind a profound silence and void.

“Zachariah taught us all that life isn’t a dress rehearsal—it’s an experience to be embraced with both hands,” his family said. “Though taken far too soon, we carry him with us in every open road, every great adventure, and every heartfelt moment.”

The family concluded with a moving tribute: “May the wind push you onward and the sun light your path. May the spirit of the ride carry you high enough to leave the world behind and fly with the angels in heaven. Ride on and fly high.”

The Volkswagen van driver, a man in his 20s from Worcestershire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Police have invited anyone with information about the incident to report it through the official online form, quoting occurrence 53260030049.
