Amanda Wixon, a mother of ten from Tewkesbury, has been convicted at Gloucester Crown Court for holding a woman captive and forcing her to work as a “house slave” for over 25 years. The victim, now in her mid-40s, was taken in at age 16 and subjected to decades of abuse and forced labor.
Facing seven charges, Wixon was acquitted of one assault count but found guilty on the remaining charges, including assault occasioning bodily harm. Among the convictions was an incident where Wixon shaving the victim’s head and another involving her hitting the victim with a broomstick, which Wixon vehemently denies.
After the verdict, Wixon spoke to reporters outside the court, dismissing her conviction as “rubbish.” When asked if she had anything to say to her victim, she replied, “Not a lot.” She also denied any remorse, stating, “No. I never done it.” Challenged about being called a “monster,” she replied, “Say what you think,” lighting a cigarette before walking away.

Court testimony revealed harrowing details of the abuse, including the victim being regularly beaten, suffering knocked-out teeth from a broom handle, having washing-up liquid forced down her throat, bleach splashed on her face, and having her head forcibly shaved multiple times. Her food intake was severely restricted, she lived off scraps, was forbidden from leaving the house, and had to wash herself in secret during the night.
Wixon denies charges of false imprisonment, forced labor, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She remains out on conditional bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 12.
