A Cheltenham Post Office fell victim to a break-in during the early hours of Tuesday, May 19, when three unidentified individuals forced their way into the premises. Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed the incident took place at approximately 12:20 a.m. at the Charlton Kings branch located on Lyefield Road West.
The offenders gained entry by forcibly breaking the locks on the rear door. Once inside, CCTV footage captured them stealing cigarettes, stamps, and cash from the till. Fortunately, the burglary occurred while the premises were closed.
The Post Office confirmed that despite the break-in, the branch has since reopened and continues to serve customers. A police spokesperson appealed to the public for any information that could assist with the investigation, urging anyone with knowledge to report it via the official Gloucestershire Police website, referencing Incident 008 of 19/05/2026.
