Meghan Markle’s Phone Number Exposed in School WhatsApp Group, Raising Security Concerns

Meghan Markle’s personal phone number was inadvertently shared through a school parents’ WhatsApp group chat. A screenshot, circulated online and initially published by The Sun, shows a parent welcoming the Duchess of Sussex to the group titled ‘Year 3’, accompanied by a books emoji.

One parent wrote, “Welcome to Meghan who has Archie joining tomo,” to which another replied, “Welcome!” Meghan then responded warmly, saying, “Hi moms! Thanks for the warm welcome ❤️ So happy to be a part of this community xx.”

The Duchess is believed to have joined the group chat shortly before her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, began their first day at school in the UK. The screenshot has since been shared widely across social media platforms.

Due to these security implications, the Sussex children have now been transferred to a different school. Reports suggest that heavy traffic and the lengthy commute initially put considerable strain on the Sussex family’s security detail, prompting the move. Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, aged five, reportedly switched schools as a result, according to Hello! magazine.

This change follows a recent meeting of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec), which oversees the safety arrangements for members of the royal family. Prince Harry is awaiting the outcomes of the Risk Management Board’s threat assessment.

Additionally, Ravec is anticipated to decide whether the Sussex family will continue to receive taxpayer-funded security following their return to the UK. The Telegraph reported that the committee chairman has contacted the Duke of Sussex, confirming that new risk assessments have been ordered for both him and the Duchess in light of their changed circumstances.

Separately, on Tuesday morning, Meghan shared a new Instagram reel celebrating her husband’s 42nd birthday. The video featured several photographs of Prince Harry, including images with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, accompanied by the message: “He’s simply the best.”

The post was captioned, “Happy birthday, my love ❤️” and was set to the song “Simply the Best” by The Hound + The Fox.
