The incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. on June 22 at the Churchdown Club on Church Road. Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service deployed six fire engines from multiple stations, including Gloucester North, Gloucester South, Cheltenham East, Stroud, and Tewkesbury, to combat the fire. Firefighters worked diligently until the situation was brought under control, with the all-clear given at 2:08 p.m.
During the emergency, the Churchdown Community Centre opened its doors to provide refuge for those seeking shelter from the smoke and heat.
