Manhunt underway after woman threatened in Gloucester alleyway

Police in Gloucester are appealing for information following a distressing incident in the Coney Hill area where a woman was followed and threatened by a man.

The incident occurred on Monday, 3 August, between 2pm and 2.25pm. Officers received reports that an unknown man approached a woman as she was walking through an alleyway connecting Forsythe Way to Willow Avenue.

According to the police, the man followed the woman and, when she attempted to escape by running, he threatened to kill her. The frightened woman managed to hide from the man, who searched for her briefly before leaving the scene, walking along Willow Avenue towards Coney Hill Road.

While the woman escaped without physical injury, she was left deeply shaken by the event.

The suspect is described as a mixed-race male of slim build, estimated to be in his mid to late thirties. At the time, he was wearing a cream hat, cream three-quarter length shorts, and a long-sleeved black jacket. He was also carrying a grey jerry can.

Since the incident, police have conducted several enquiries, including house-to-house visits and examination of CCTV footage in the vicinity.

Officers are now urging anyone who lives in or near the area and has not yet spoken to them, but who may possess doorbell camera, CCTV, or dashcam footage of the suspect, to come forward.
