Endometriosis affects millions of women worldwide, and managing its symptoms can be challenging. A dietitian living with endometriosis recently shared her daily meal plan, focusing on foods considered ‘endo-friendly.’ This glimpse into her breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices provides valuable insight into how diet can help alleviate endometriosis symptoms.
Endometriosis is a complex condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows in other areas of the body. While there is no cure, various treatments, including surgery, can help manage symptoms. The impact of diet on endometriosis symptoms is significant, as certain foods may trigger flare-ups. It’s crucial to acknowledge that each person’s experience with endometriosis is unique, and what works for one individual may not work for another.
In a video, Cindy, also known as @endo.fertility.dietitian, shares her daily diet as an endometriosis dietitian with endo. She opts for a protein source like yogurt or cheese if bacon isn’t available and prepares two eggs with a cup of tea, often adding collagen powder. Her breakfast also includes a mix of various berries to create visually appealing and nutritious meals.

For dinner, she enjoys dishes such as Caribbean-style chicken served with a blend of corn, peppers, and onions, ensuring a sufficient intake of protein and vegetables.
In response to a comment falsely claiming that “animal fats gave me endo,” the dietitian clarified, “Diet doesn’t give you endometriosis. Maybe these foods make you feel unwell, but they do not give you endo. And BTW this is what I eat in a day and what makes me feel good.”
She also shared a list of top anti-inflammatory foods that she incorporates into her endo-friendly diet, aiming to manage her symptoms effectively.
