Man Wearing Red Hat Attempts to Break Into Stroud Home

A man was caught trying to break into a house by smashing a window in Stroud yesterday evening. The attempted burglary occurred on Upper Church Road at approximately 6:10 pm on Tuesday, November 18.

The homeowner interrupted the suspect as he tried to shatter a downstairs window. Alarmed, the man fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect as possibly wearing a red hat.

Gloucestershire Police are actively investigating the incident and urge anyone who witnessed suspicious behavior in the area around the time to come forward. They are also interested in any relevant information or footage that may assist the inquiry.

A police spokesperson stated: “We are appealing for information after a man attempted to gain entry to a property in Stroud by smashing a window. The incident took place on Upper Church Road around 6:10 pm on November 18. The suspect, possibly wearing a red hat, fled when disturbed by the homeowner. We encourage anyone with information to contact us.”
