Man Threatened by Masked Bikers Urges Night Buses to Use Station After Gloucester’s The Forum Opens

A local man who recently faced a frightening experience involving bikers wearing balaclavas has called for night bus services in Gloucester to operate from the new bus station once The Forum development is completed. He described the current situation as unsafe for passengers, especially during the early hours of the morning.

According to the man, who wished to remain anonymous, the area where night buses currently stop is poorly lit and lacks adequate security measures. This environment creates a risk for people waiting at night, particularly when facing threatening individuals. “It’s not a safe area at 2 a.m. in the morning to be picking up passengers from a bus or to be waiting,” he explained.

With The Forum due to provide a modernized transport hub, the man believes that relocating night bus pick-up points to the new station would significantly enhance passenger safety. He hopes the authorities will take these concerns seriously and ensure improved protection for nighttime travelers.

The Forum project aims to revitalize Gloucester’s city center by offering better facilities and safer environments for public transport users. Advocates say having night buses operate from a dedicated, secure station could reduce risks associated with late-night travel.
