A man in his 20s was violently assaulted while waiting in his car at traffic lights on Westgate Street near Westgate Island, Gloucester, on the evening of Thursday, May 15. Around 5pm, a red Kia pulled up beside the victim’s vehicle. The occupants shouted at him before one man exited the Kia and lunged through the open window with a knife, stabbing the victim.
A second attacker then climbed into the passenger side of the victim’s car and repeatedly punched him in the face. Both assailants returned to the Kia, driven by a woman, and sped off from the scene.
The victim managed to drive to a nearby garage where he received first aid before paramedics arrived. He was transported to Gloucestershire Hospital with a large leg wound, a chest cut, and facial injuries. He was discharged later the same evening.

Police quickly located the Kia in Gloucester city centre and arrested four suspects at a nearby address with the help of armed units. A search revealed a quantity of Class A drugs and paraphernalia including scales, phones, and ziplock bags.
The arrested individuals – a man and woman in their 20s and two teenage boys, all from Gloucester – face charges of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. They remain in custody as investigations continue.
Additionally, another Gloucester man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and is also in custody.
Gloucestershire Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has CCTV or dashcam footage showing the Kia before or after the attack to come forward and provide information quoting incident 419 of 15 May.
