Man Sexually Assaults Woman on Gloucester Bus: Police Launch Hunt for Suspect

Gloucestershire Constabulary is urgently seeking witnesses after a man sexually assaulted a woman on a bus traveling from Gloucester to Innsworth last month. The incident occurred on Friday, October 24, at approximately 3:40pm.

According to police reports, the victim boarded the bus at Gloucester Bus Station, carrying a portable shopping trolley, and sat near the front. The suspect, seated next to her, began by gripping her elbow tightly despite her protests. He repeated this behavior multiple times before firmly gripping her leg, causing pain and visible bruising. The man also attempted to place his hands around the woman’s waist repeatedly.

Concerned passengers intervened; one asked if the woman was all right, while another urged the man to stop his inappropriate behavior. The woman disembarked at Innsworth, but the suspect remained on the bus.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately in his mid to late 30s, with a slim build and a full beard. He was wearing a tweed coat, suede shoes, and a distinctive black deerstalker-style hat. He was also carrying a bag containing canned drinks.

Investigators continue to review CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or who may know the identity of the man to come forward. Information can be submitted to Gloucestershire Police online, referencing incident 293 of 24 October.
