A serious seven-vehicle collision in Longlevens has left one man injured and caused significant disruption on the A40. Gloucestershire Police were alerted to the crash at approximately 1:50 pm on June 18, near the Elmbridge Court roundabout.
The man, in his 80s, suffered head injuries and was promptly taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Authorities have confirmed he remains in stable condition. Fortunately, no other individuals involved in the multi-vehicle incident required hospital treatment.
At the scene, police arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

The A40 was closed between the new Insworth roundabout and Elmbridge Court roundabout while police conducted their investigation. The road closure has now been lifted, but officers are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
