Man Seriously Injured in Lorry and Car Collision Near Gloucestershire Border

A serious collision involving a car and a lorry occurred on the B4040 near Malmesbury, Wiltshire, at approximately 4:20 pm on Monday, February 23. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene.

Police have confirmed that a 61-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been notified. A 60-year-old woman, also traveling in the same vehicle, suffered injuries that are not believed to be serious.

The lorry driver remained on-site following the incident, and no arrests have been made. Wiltshire Police are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We attended a serious road traffic collision on the B4040 in Malmesbury at about 4:20 pm on February 23, involving a car and a lorry. A 61-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries; a 60-year-old woman in the car sustained minor injuries. His next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. The lorry driver remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made.”
