A man in his 40s sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at a notorious accident blackspot in the Cotswolds. Gloucestershire Police responded to the incident at around 8:10 pm on Tuesday, June 23.
The crash involved a blue Peugeot Rifter van and a silver Volkswagen Golf at the junction of Spratsgate Lane and Ewen Road near Shorncote, just outside Cirencester.
The van driver was rushed to Southmead Hospital and remains under treatment for serious injuries. Two additional passengers were also taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Multiple road closures were implemented while emergency services attended the scene. The affected roads were reopened late last night.
Authorities are now urging witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage related to the accident to come forward. Those with information can submit details to the police online, referencing incident 503 of June 23.
