Man Named and Charged Following Police Chase in Gloucester

An 18-year-old man has been formally named and charged following a police chase in Gloucester on June 25.

Gloucestershire Police were alerted around midday to a red Volkswagen Golf suspected of being stolen, seen driving in the Hucclecote area. Officers located the vehicle parked outside the Wagon & Horses pub on Hucclecote Road and attempted to intercept it. However, the driver forced his way past police roadblocks, initiating a brief pursuit.

The chase continued onto Church Lane in Barnwood, where the vehicle eventually stopped. The driver then fled on foot, but officers lost sight of him during the pursuit. After continued investigations, police located and arrested the suspect—a resident of Redditch—about a week later.
