Man Injured in Dog Attack near Gloucester Rugby Club

Authorities are on the lookout for two women after a dog they were walking bit a man, leading to his hospitalization. The incident occurred near Coney Hill Rugby Club in Gloucester during daylight hours.

Despite being on a leash, the dog managed to bite the man on the arm. The canine was being walked by a young, slim woman with black hair and an older woman with short grey hair.

Seeking to identify the women and appealing for the dog owner to come forward, the police are urging witnesses to step forward. The dog, described as black and white and similar in size to a Labrador, was involved in the attack.

Gloucestershire Constabulary stated, “Officers were notified of a dog attack on Metz Way, near Coney Hill Rugby Club and Coney Hill Park in Gloucester, around midday on Tuesday 1 April.

“The man sustained a bite on the arm, resulting in a puncture wound, swelling, and bruising requiring medical attention at a hospital.

“The dog was under the care of two women, one of whom offered an apology to the man but did not provide any information.

“One woman is described as older with short grey hair, while the other is believed to be in her twenties, with black hair and a slim build.

“The authorities are keen to locate the two women and are requesting their cooperation for further inquiries. They also wish to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Gloucestershire Police via the website form, quoting incident 147 of 2 April.”
