Man Hospitalized After Broken Bottle Attack at Gloucester Flats

A man in his 20s was seriously injured after being attacked with a broken bottle in a block of flats on Whitfield Street, Gloucester, in the early hours of Monday, June 2. The victim sustained wounds to his face, arm, and back and was promptly taken to hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The assault occurred within the residential complex, and authorities believe the parties involved were acquainted. Shortly after the incident, a man, also in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of Class B drugs. He remains in police custody.

Police established a cordon to facilitate a thorough forensic investigation, which has since been lifted. Officers have conducted house-to-house inquiries and reviewed CCTV footage as part of their ongoing investigation.

Gloucestershire Police have urged anyone who witnessed the attack or has relevant doorbell camera footage to come forward. Information can be submitted online, referencing incident 47 from June 2.
