A man in his 40s was discovered unconscious on Eastgate Street in Gloucester city centre, near The Cross and Primark, suffering severe injuries believed to be the result of an assault.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22. The victim was promptly taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where he is being treated for a brain bleed, a fractured skull, and a fractured jaw.
The man has been unable to recall any details of the attack. Gloucestershire Police have examined CCTV footage and spoken with several individuals in the area but are continuing their investigation.
