Man Critically Injured in Violent Attack on Cirencester Housing Estate

A man in his 20s remains in critical condition following a serious assault on a housing estate in Cirencester last night.

Gloucestershire Police responded to reports of a violent altercation on Reeves Close at approximately 6:20 pm on Thursday, June 18. Authorities say two men, believed to be acquaintances, were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical attack. One man allegedly knocked the other to the ground before continuing to assault him.

The attacker fled prior to police arrival but was subsequently located and arrested. The victim was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he remains in critical condition.

Police have conducted house-to-house inquiries and are maintaining a presence at the scene, located on the outskirts of the Cotswolds market town. A 21-year-old man is currently in custody, facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm. Investigations are ongoing.
