Anachi Thomas, 41, currently of no fixed address, has been charged with raping a woman in Gloucester and appeared in Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 23. He was remanded in custody pending a hearing at Gloucester Crown Court scheduled for July 22.
The charge stems from an incident reported on Sunday, June 21, when police were alerted to a rape occurring around 10:30 p.m. on Stroud Road. Gloucestershire Police are actively investigating and have expressed their gratitude to those who have already provided information.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed a man and woman walking from Tredworth to Stroud Road between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on that day to come forward. Additionally, police request any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the area that might assist the investigation.

At this stage, it is believed that the victim and suspect were known to each other. Gloucestershire Police continue to gather evidence and appeal to the public for assistance.
