A 56-year-old man from Gloucester has been charged with drink driving following a crash on the M5 in Gloucestershire. The incident occurred on the southbound slip road at junction 12 around 8:10 pm on Wednesday, November 26.
Police responded promptly to the scene of the single-vehicle collision and arrested John Harries of The Holly Grove, Quedgeley, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Subsequent tests confirmed that his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.
Harries has been formally charged with driving while intoxicated and has been released on bail. He is scheduled to appear at the magistrates' court in January.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson stated, “We were called at approximately 8:10 pm on Wednesday following a report of a non-injury single-vehicle collision on the M5 southbound slip road at junction 12. Officers attended promptly and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. The individual was later charged with exceeding the legal alcohol limit and has been released on bail pending a court appearance.”
