Man Bites Three Police Officers During Arrest Attempt

On the afternoon of Saturday, June 27, a man bit three West Mercia Police officers as they attempted to arrest him following a disturbance call in Worcestershire. The suspect bit the officers on their hands, breaking the skin and leaving visible bite marks. All three officers required hospital treatment but none sustained life-threatening injuries.

The 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers, burglary, and criminal damage. He has since been released on police bail as investigations continue.

Chief Superintendent Edd Williams emphasized that while police officers regularly face difficult situations, violence against them is unacceptable. “Assaults on emergency workers are criminal acts and will be dealt with accordingly,” he stated, condemning the attack as an affront to public safety.
