A disturbing incident occurred on Friday, March 17, when a man attempted to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl on a W bus traveling from Winchcombe to Cheltenham.
The girl boarded the bus in Winchcombe at 12:07 pm. Shortly after, a man approached her, made inappropriate comments about her appearance, and tried to place his hand on her leg. One passenger noticed the behavior and intervened, telling the man to stop, prompting him to sit back down.
When the girl disembarked near Primark on High Street in Cheltenham, the suspect attempted to touch her again, this time trying to put his hand on her bottom. A second passenger confronted the man, telling him to cease his actions. The suspect then followed the victim briefly until she met a known individual further along High Street, after which the suspect turned and walked away.

Gloucestershire Police have yet to make any arrests but are eager to speak with the two men who intervened. Their assistance may be crucial to the ongoing investigation. Police also urge any witnesses or those with information related to the case to come forward, referencing incident number 53260018255.
