Gloucestershire Police are seeking witnesses following a violent incident in Tewkesbury where a man was attacked with hammers.
On Tuesday, July 14, at approximately 4 pm, two men approached a man in his 30s who was resting under a tree in The Vineyards, close to Tewkesbury Abbey. The attackers then assaulted the victim with hammers, inflicting injuries to his face before fleeing the scene on foot.
Authorities believe the victim was acquainted with his attackers. A 51-year-old man from Tewkesbury was subsequently arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent under section 18 but has since been released on police bail as investigations continue.
