Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following a violent hammer attack near Tewkesbury Abbey. On Tuesday, July 14, at approximately 4 p.m., a man in his 30s was resting under a tree in The Vineyards area when two men approached him and assaulted him with hammers, causing facial injuries.
Authorities believe the victim knew his assailants. One of the suspects, a 51-year-old man from Tewkesbury, was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. He has since been released on police bail as investigations continue.
