A 69-year-old man was arrested in Gloucester this Wednesday morning on suspicion of rape, kidnapping, indecent assault, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, relating to offences that took place more than 35 years ago.
Police confirmed that specialist officers are conducting a thorough search of the suspect’s property as part of the ongoing investigation. The alleged crimes occurred during the 1970s and 1980s.
The victim has been informed of the arrest and offered specialist support services to assist during this difficult time.

The man remains in police custody and will be interviewed by detectives as inquiries continue.
