Police in Gloucester have arrested a man following several reports of sexual assault near a city centre pub.
On Saturday, 19 September, door staff at a local pub alerted Gloucestershire Police to a man who had approached several women, including following two down an alleyway, raising concerns about his behaviour. The incidents reportedly occurred between approximately 11:00pm and 11:30pm in the vicinity of The Cross.
Police were contacted shortly after 11:20pm, with reports indicating that the man had inappropriately touched women on their bottoms. It is also understood that the individual had been inside The Cross Keys Inn on Southgate Street.

Responding officers attended the premises and identified a man matching the provided description. At 11:40pm, a 41-year-old Gloucester resident was arrested on Longsmith Street on suspicion of sexual assault and a public order offence.
Following police questioning, the man was released on bail with conditions that include remaining indoors between 8:00pm and 6:00am, residing at a specified address in Gloucester, and refraining from entering Gloucester city centre except for pre-arranged appointments.
Police have so far communicated with three women in relation to the incident and plan to carry out further CCTV investigations. They are urging anyone who witnessed the events or has any relevant footage to come forward.
