A 69-year-old man was arrested today in Gloucester on suspicion of raping and kidnapping a woman in incidents dating back more than 35 years. The arrest took place Wednesday morning at a local property, where police are currently conducting a thorough search as part of the ongoing investigation.
The charges include rape, kidnapping, indecent assault, and causing actual bodily harm, all stemming from offences committed during the 1970s and 1980s. The victim has been informed of the arrest and provided with access to specialist support services.
The suspect remains in police custody and will be interviewed by detectives while further inquiries continue.
