Investigators are appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing a group of people in Bank Gardens, Stroud. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday 5 September during an event in the park.
According to Gloucestershire Police, the man approached a group and shouted racist remarks, before tearing down flags and throwing placards. The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s, wearing a grey hoody, with a beard and short balding hair.
A man from Cam, also in his 30s, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences and being drunk and disorderly. He has since been released on police bail with conditions, while investigations continue.

Officers are urging anyone who was in Bank Gardens at the time and witnessed the incident to come forward. Information can be provided by completing an online form on the Gloucestershire Police website, quoting occurrence number 53260076823.
