Man Arrested Following Police Pursuit of Stolen Motorcycle in Forest of Dean

Police in the Forest of Dean have made an arrest after a man fled from officers while riding a stolen motorcycle in Cinderford. The incident began when officers spotted the motorcycle, which lacked a rear registration plate, and signaled the rider to stop. Instead of complying, the rider accelerated away.

Following a thorough search, the stolen motorcycle was discovered concealed in a garden on Hastings Road. This incident is the latest in a series of reported crimes in the area, prompting the Forest of Dean Policing Team to increase foot patrols around Cinderford, particularly focusing on anti-social behaviour and vehicle theft.

On the evening of Tuesday, April 21, the police first encountered the rider near Cinders Crescent. After the motorcycle was found and the investigation began, four individuals were initially detained. Through CCTV analysis and local intelligence, police identified a suspect who was subsequently arrested at an address on Teagues Way on suspicion of motor vehicle theft. The recovered motorcycle and related evidence are being examined forensically, with hopes to return the bike to its rightful owner soon.

In a separate but related incident the next evening, officers received a report of another stolen motorcycle in Cinderford. Swift action by Neighbourhood, Response, and Specialist Operations teams led to its recovery. The victim has been informed, and investigations continue to identify and apprehend the outstanding suspect.

In response to community concerns about rising anti-social behaviour, officers have intensified foot patrols in the town centre. These patrols include engaging positively with local youth, with visits to the CANDI Youth Space and The Music Works bus to foster relationships and promote a safer environment for all.

Additionally, PCSO Timmins hosted a Police Information Point (PIP) at Bromsberrow Village Hall, providing residents with opportunities to discuss concerns, receive advice on crime prevention, and address safeguarding issues.
